The church’s humble beginnings started in the year 1938 when a few Spanish speaking people arrived in the Capac area. Victor and Felipa Villapando opened their home for the very first Spanish speaking church service. As the church began to grow, the people rented other buildings and when necessary held meetings at other church member’s homes.

In the year of 1950, land was purchased so the church members could build their own church building. Everyone who was able participated in the effort from mixing cement, lifting the boulders into place and preparing meals for the workers. When asked where the stones came from, one church member responded that the community farmers donated the stones found in their fields. The new church building was completed in the year 1952.

The church building itself has gone through a number of renovations. The early church had a parsonage for the pastor and his family, and the fellowship hall was much smaller. As time went on the fellowship hall was enlarged to add a separate kitchen area and nursery. In the past few years the parsonage was remodeled into class rooms with a new men's and women's restroom facilities. The fellowship hall had to have the entire roof replaced. This took place in November of 2003. The church took out a bank loan to cover the cost of the new roof and the remodeled fellowship hall, kitchen area and additional restroom.

The church has a rich history of both Spanish and English speakers reverends, pastors, missionaries, brothers and sisters in the Lord who would bring the scriptural message to the church.

Numerous weddings, bridal/baby showers, birthday parties, and other celebrations have taken place in this building. We look to a future of many more celebrations in our newly remodel building.

Our current pastor is Pastor Ron Kersten, who brings the message in English. Our worship consists of both Spanish and English hymns and chorus. A lot of traditional Mexican/Puerto Rican food is served at our numerous fellowships.

We welcome anyone who is seeking God and would like to fellowship with us.
